At OCAD University, I took a course called Experimental Processes: Photography, in which I created this series of bleached prints. This series explores how specific elements of photographs change meaning when their surroundings are altered.

Originally inspired by the processes of contemporary artist Curtis Mann, I painted matte medium on particular elements of each image, so they would not be affected by the bleach. The result leaves subjects within fiery, chaotic landscapes.
